“Baroque Music creates a direct connection to my inner self. It resonates in my soul with all its life energy, positive outlook, and playfulness.”
Petra Schwarthoff was born and raised in Germany. After finishing music college in Germany she and her husband decided to embark on a two-year adventure living in the United States of America. Fourteen years later they are still in America with three wonderful children, buying a home, and enjoying their lives together in beautiful Boise.
Petra has a Master’s in Music Education from Ithaca College. She taught in the Ithaca School district for four years, and performed with a number of different orchestras, including the Cornell Baroque Ensemble, which features performances on historic instruments. Petra is currently a stay at home Mom who enjoys the opportunity to escape the everyday life to perform with the Boise Baroque Orchestra. Since she also loves sheet music, bookkeeping, bowings, and buying, she volunteered to become Boise Baroque Orchestra’s librarian.
