Conductor/Soloist Workshop
The Boise Baroque Orchestra will present a six-day conductor/soloist workshop to explore repertoire from the 18th Century. Conductors and Soloists will present a concert with the Boise Baroque Orchestra. The festival will take place in Boise, Idaho from June 17 through June 22, 2024. The concert will be videotaped for participants from behind the orchestra as well as from the hall. The workshop will take place at First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Boise.

Conductors
Conducting participants will study with Robert Franz, Artistic Director of the Boise Baroque Orchestra and Music Director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra and the UNCSA Symphony Orchestra. Each fellow will have ample podium time (about 3 hours each) to perform movements from an 18th century symphony as well as a movement of a standard concerto.
Audition Materials
Resume plus two conducting videos of contrasting styles - Baroque/Classical repertoire recommended but not required.

Soloists
Soloists will have the opportunity to play one movement of a standard 18th Century concerto with the Boise Baroque Orchestra. In addition, students will play side-by-side with their professional counterparts on the second half of the concert. Baroque Bows (for strings) will be available for use during this festival courtesy of the Boise Baroque Orchestra.
Concerto soloist coach is Dr. Bryan Hall, violin professor at Georgia College. String students will work with all faculty/BBO principals throughout the workshop.

Letter of recommendation from private teacher plus video of 1 or 2 short works
(Baroque/Classical repertoire recommended, but not required)

CPE Bach – Cello Concerto
*NB: Double concertos are also a possibility and encouraged. Ask for more information.
** Woodwind and Brass concertos from the 18th Century will be considered. Send your desired repertoire with your application
